Port of Tucson Tour
Aug 08, 2018 12:00 PM
SPECIAL TOUR OF THE PORT OF TUCSON COME JOIN THE PERSIDIO ROTARY FOR A TOUR OF THE PORT OF TUCSON AUGUST 8, 2018 11:00am MEET AT I-10 TTT TRUCK STOP FOR LUNCH or 12:00pm MEET AT 6964 E CENTURY PARK DRIVE
THE 1.5 HOURS TOUR START PROMPTLY AT 12:00 Alan Levine opened the Port of Tucson in then late 1990 on 300 acres of property near the Kolb exit to I-10. Over the years, the site has grown to over 2 million sq ft of warehousing and 3 miles of internal track to support National and Global fright handling and storage. The site was declared a Foreign Trade Zone allowing the Port to be designated an inland port with the capability of providing local customs service and direct shipping to oversea locations. In late 2000, Alan made the decision to invest in infrastructure and advanced permitting to make his property “Shovel Ready” for any customer that needed rapid development of site in order to minimize the “time to market”. On 21 March 2018, Amazon announced the acquisition of 94 acres for the development of over 2.3 million sq ft of a large distribution center at the Port of Tucson. The site will eventually add up to 1500 new jobs for Tucson. Dirt started flying the day after the announcement. Tour will allow you to meet the management and to see the extent of the sites total development for the future extensive global inland Port of Tucson. |

How the Tucson Roadrunners can be an asset to your business/organization
Aug 21, 2018 12:10 PM
Kelsen Adeni is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Tucson in 2013 to study at UA. He worked in the Athletic Department for most of my academic career while also playing rugby for the school. He graduated in May of 2017 and started working for the Roadrunners the next month. About the Roadrunners: The Tucson Roadrunners moved to Tucson from Springfield, Massachusetts in 2016. Located in downtown Tucson at the Tucson Convention Center, the Roadrunners averaged 4,500 fans per game over 34 home games. Last season, the Roadrunners won the Pacific Division, had the best record in the conference, and won the Border Trophy – the award for winning the rivalry series with the San Diego Gulls, and advanced to the 2nd round of the AHL Western Conference playoffs. |
