Exciting News... In-Person Meetings Are Back!!!
 
We will be coming back to meet in-person on 10 August, 2021 and we are so excited to see your smiling faces!!!
Our weekly meeting will be held at the Double Tree Hotel by Tucson Downtown Convention Center, 280 S Church Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701.
 
 
Please fill out the RSVP form by noon on 6 August, 2021.
Make sure you don't miss out!
Attendance will be capped at 24, so secure your spot by filling out the RSVP.
The cost for “pre-paid” members will be covered by dues.  The cost for “pay-as-you-go” members and guests will be $25.
For the months of August and September, we will be meeting at different venues to get us set for the best venue possible based on your feedback.

Our Speaker this Week
 
Ernesto Portillo, Jr
 
Our guest for this week is Ernesto Portillo, Jr., an aide to city of Tucson Ward 3 council member, Karen Uhlich. He joined the Ward 3 staff in January 2020, after a nearly 40-year career in journalism. In his last 19 years, Ernesto was a metro news columnist for the Arizona Daily Star and for 10 years also served as editor of La Estrella de Tucson, the Star's Spanish-language weekly publication. Ernesto was born and raised in Tucson. He is a graduate of Cholla High School and the University of Arizona where he earned an undergraduate degree in Latin American Studies. He has a master's degree in International Journalism from the University of Southern California. Ernesto worked in newspapers in Massachusetts and San Diego, Calif., before returning home. He is a long-time, on-air volunteer with KXCI-FM, serves on its board of directors and the board for Living Streets Alliance. He and his wife, Linda, live on Tucson's west side. They have a plot at Las Milpitas Community garden and he loves his backyard chickens.
