Per the continuing COVID-19 precautions, the Old Pueblo Rotary will continue to hold meetings via the Zoom platform.  If you have any questions about logging in to meetings please contact Pat Kerr or Dante Archangeli directly.
The OPR is happy to welcome Chelsea Mendoza, ambassador for Students for Sustainability, a student organization part of ASUA at the University of Arizona. From their website:
Students for Sustainability is an ASUA student government program that works to engage the student body in order to cultivate environmental literacy from many perspectives. SFS works to do this through the ASUA model of empowering student leaders, advancing social justice and equality, and in pursuing institutionalized sustainability at the University of Arizona and within the Tucson community. Sustainability: Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony. Sustainability means that humans are a part of natural systems and must meet their social, economic and other needs while also allowing for the needs of non-human creatures and functioning ecosystems now and for subsequent generations. Sustainability is intersectional and can only be achieved through interdisciplinary thought and action, incorporating all parts of human society and the natural world. Sustainability must also be progressing social justice, not continuing to marginalize the already marginalized in terms of race, class, gender, ability, and sexuality.

Lend your support to the OPR!  The Old Pueblo Rotary and the Saguaro Rotary merged some time ago, so both clubs are listed under the Saguaro Tucson Rotary Club Foundation.  Use this name when selecting a charity to support.  Follow the instructions here to activate AmazonSmile on your mobile app or Amazon profile to donate for a good cause every time you shop through Amazon.
Despite the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 situation, we are grateful for the strength of our community and the friendships we've built.  We are still on-track with our service projects, and we look forward each and every day to serving the public according to the Rotary 4-way test.
We are here to serve!  Check the Pima County Health Department for COVID vaccine updates, statistics, and more.  Keep reading below for tips on staying safe during these times.
Due to concerns over COVID-19, please take precautions to keep yourself healthy:
- Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds at a time;
- Cover your mouth/nose when you cough/sneeze;
- STAY HOME if you feel sick.
We miss you all terribly!  When this period passes we will reconvene with both our regular meetings and social activities.  Stay tuned for any further updates on both the OPR website and our social media as the situation regarding COVID-19 evolves in Pima County and Tucson.
