Aug 12 2008 - Governor Tom Tilton and Anti-Meth

In our last meeting at the Manning House, Saguaro Rotary welcomed Tom Tilton, District 5500 Governor and Paul McQueary of the Anti-Meth Program.
Governor Tilton delivered a brief message and will be back to our meeting for a return engagement. Governor Tilton was also surprised by a visit from the Southern Arizona Assistant to Governor Janet Napolitano who presented Tom with an autographed poster from Arizona's Governor
There were many guests this week, including Rotary International Director, Phil Silvers and Mary Pat Sullivan, Assistant Governor of District 5500. Paul McQueary, from one of the Farmington, NM Rotary clubs, presented a message of the impact of Methamphetamine, it's impact on their community, and what they are doing about it.
NEXT WEEK: We meet at Pastiche, 3025 N Campbell #121...our speaker will be Jeff Mendelsohn from the Shyann Kindness Project... The Shyann Kindness Project is dedicated to passing on kindness, one act at a time. The all-volunteer non-profit was founded in 2006 by Sandy and Glenn Rosati in memory of their daughter, Shyann, to serve children and caregivers in stressful situations due to illness or other traumatic events. Shyann, who was born with multiple birth defects, died in 2005 at age 7.
