DG Aslin Visits

District 5500's new Governor, Jim Aslin, made Saguaro Rotary one of his very first stops in the new year. With ADG Mark Cowley, Governor Aslin met with the Saguaro Board and then made a presentation to the nearly 30 in attendance at the club meeting. Governor Jim reviewed district goals for this year and reminded us of the fall District Conference being held in Tucson on October 20-22nd.

The room was full with 30+ members and guests, including Glenn Garrett, Jill Becker, and prospective member Kate Knochel. The meeting was packed with action! In addition to the DG's presentation, we had a raffle winner when Richard Mullen pulled the 10 of Clubs from the dozen remaining cards and took down a prize pool of nearly $750!!

Sam Behrend made a generous donation when the club recognized his having received a national award for his years of leadership in the area of public access media.
