OASIS Tutoring: A dynamic approach to helping children with their reading and writing skills. The OASIS Inter-generational Tutoring Program promotes literacy with a proven approach to help high-needs children read and write at grade level. The program taps the potential of volunteers who have the time, patience and life experience to make a profound difference in the reading and writing lives of young children. Working with elementary schools K-5, OASIS Tutors work one-on-one twice a week as tutors, mentors and friends with children who are at-risk students. Tucson OASIS will provide free training, materials and ongoing tutor support for all tutors in this program. Fingerprinting will be provided for all tutors who do not have a valid fingerprint card. Tutor Training Workshops are scheduled for May 8th & 9th |
