Lots of fun activity at Tuesday's meeting - per usual! A visit from ADG Mark Cowley, an auction of the last two Entertainment Books, and the Superbowl Squares continued to sell quickly.

Thanks to Woody Cohen for his always excellent leadership in the Entertainment Book fundraiser. Sales are concluded and every book was sold! Thanks to everyone for supporting this key Foundation fundraiser.

Apparently some bizarre "lucky" virus is spreading through the club. Two weeks ago our regular visiting Rotarian from Ontario, Hank Parks, drew the winning card and won the raffle and last week Hank recognized his good fortune with a generous donation to the RI Foundation. It was pretty early in the life of the raffle, with a lot of cards left. Then last weekend, in Las Vegas, member Sam Behrend beat the house with a big win. Sam donated to his daughter Georgia's Paul Harris, the fourth in the Behrend family. And then, to top it off, Jim Brunenkant pulled the winning card in this week's raffle - with 50 cards still in the deck! We can only hope that all our members have such good luck - and continue to support the Foundation!

We heard an excellent presentation from Mary Gruensfelder-Cox, executive director of Youth on Their Own. Mary described the work of this fine organization, which supports homeless high school students and puts them on a path to success, and related some touching stories of these young people.

Don't forget - our next meeting, January 30th, is an off-site vocational visit to the Arts Partnership Gallery, at 125 S. Arizona Ave., downtown. If you have not already signed up to attend, contact Maurice Saroni - or you won't have a lunch! This should be an interesting event featuring the art of Ilene Meyer, an internationally renowned surrealist.
