President Elect Fred Narcaroti and Secretary Maurice Saroni returned from the two day PETS (President Elect, Treasurer, Secretary) training in Mesa, each bringing back something. Fred related his new appreciation for the many ways in which Rotary can benefit the community and the world. Maurice, on the other hand, won the drawing held among all early registrations at the event. The prize? A seven day Alaskan cruise!! Everyone in the club will want to go to PETS next year! Congratulations, Maurice, and thanks for donating to the club Foundation in recognition of your good luck.

Long time honorary member and winter visitor Joe Tatar joined us again after recovering from some successful surgery. Joe made a very generous donation to the Saguaro Rotary Foundation and it is greatly appreciated!

We heard a most informative presentation from Dr. Sylvia Lee, president of the Pima Community College Northwest Campus. This newest PCC facility serves about 5,000 students of the 80,000 total attending PCC classes. Dr. Lee told us about the more than 150 programs available at Pima, including the new Bachelors Degree program offered in cooperation with Indiana University.

We welcomed a guest of the club, Scott Forgues, for his second visit. We sang vigorously, despite the absence of song leader Chris Alexander. Sam Behrend reported his relief at the successful resolution of the impasse between Cox Cable and the City. Access Tucson will continue forward under the new agreement, at least for 5 more years.

All in all, another fine meeting, with fine Rotarians, and a pretty darn good lunch! If you weren't there, we missed you - let's fill the room with perfect attendance next week!
