May 15 - Blessings and Citations

We enjoyed another great meeting, with a heart warming program and an honored guest.

Vicki Willan from Blessings From the Heart told us about their progress in aiding the Casa Pepito orphanage in Agua Prieta, Mexico. Click here to read their current newsletter. Saguaro members led by Nick Genematas have visited and provided gifts, supplies, construction materials, and labor to bring the facility to a more livable condition. The next visit is scheduled for May 26th. Right now the ophanage is most in need of chicken pieces, sugar, cooking oil, tuna, baby teething rings, baby wipes, dish soap, laundry detergent, and fabric softener. If you have supplies to donate or would like to make the trip, contact Nick or Scott Polston.

District Governor Jim Aslin and his wife, Rotarian Sue Aslin honored us with a visit. Jim presented our club with the Presidential Citation for Rotary Year 2006-2007 for achieving a number of specific goals as established by RI President William B. Boyd.

President Elect Fred Narcaroti reminded us that this Sunday, May 20, there will be a Joint Board Meeting of the current and incoming Boards. All members are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the conference room of Beach, Fleischman, & Co., at 1985 E River Road, Suite 201. Contact Fred at 628-7648 if you have questions.
