Have you ever thought “How can one person really make a difference?” The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program is where you can really have an impact in the life of an abused or neglected child involved in the Family Court system. A CASA volunteer is a trained community member (professional volunteer) appointed by a judge to represent the best interests of a child during a dependency case.
As a CASA volunteer, you will be the eyes and ears for the judge, serving as a fact finder for the judge by thoroughly researching the background and current circumstances of your case. You will also speak for the child in court proceedings, representing their best interest, and continue to advocate for the child through the life of the case, ensuring it is brought to a swift and appropriate conclusion. contact with the child and other involved parties in your assigned case.
