Sept 23 2008 - Interfaith Community Services
Posted by Scott Forgues
Our speaker this week was Monnie Applegate of Interfaith Community Services.
Founded in 1985, the mission of Interfaith Community Services (formerly
Northwest Interfaith Center) is to live our diverse faiths by helping
seniors, disabled individuals and people in financial crisis in Pima
County achieve stable and independent lives through support from
volunteers, faith communities and the community at large.
ICS helps people in immediate need through a food bank, emergency financial assistance, and other services. They typically get 40-60 calls in the first hour on a typical day and the need is growing. They rely on fundraising including a golf tournament and upcoming concert. More information can be found at www.icstucson.org.
Our September 30 is devoted to a club assembly.
