The Saguaro Rotary Foundation Board met Friday, Nov. 10th. Foundation tax returns and Corporation Commission filings have been completed.

A planned International water project that the club had committed to more than a year ago has been cancelled and another project has been proposed for District matching funds. The project is the creation of a library in Cascavel, Brazil, in cooperation with their local Rotary club. Casas Adobes, Oro Valley, Saddlebrooke, Marana, and Saguaro clubs are participating in this District grant project. The Foundation Board voted to commit $500 to this project.

The Foundation Board voted to commit up to $500 to fund participation for up to 15 members of our Flowing Wells Interact club in the Susan G. Komen Foundation Race for the Cure event.

The Board voted to donate $250 to Direchos Humanos (Arizona Border Rights Foundation), a human rights organization concerned with migrant deaths.

Fundraising Plans
November is Foundation month. From now through the end of the year, member donations up to $100 (total for the year) will be matched with points awarded by RI, doubling their PHF credit. This includes the standing practice of the club matching the first $50 donated by each member in each Rotary year.

Super Bowl and NCAA March Madness fundraiser pools will be held in December and March at club meetings. Super Bowl fundraiser will be a 100 square score matching pool, run by Sam Behrend. March Madness will be an elimination pool operated by Fred Narcaroti. Funds raised by these events will be used to make a PHF donation in the names of the winners. Specific details will be announced.
